France replace Varane with Zouma

Kurt Zouma has been called up to the France squad in place of the injured Raphael Varane for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Luxembourg, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Sunday.
Real Madrid centre-back Varane's withdrawal due to an adductor injury was confirmed by his club coach Zinedine Zidane on Saturday.
"Today he could play, but I don't want him to aggravate it and then we lose him for a longer period," said Zidane of the 24-year-old defender, capped 37 times.
"The idea is that he stays here to recover and prepare for the season."
Zouma, 22, has been capped twice in 2015. The Chelsea stopper has been loaned to Stoke City for the season.
Varane's withdrawal is a big blow to coach Didier Deschamps, who felt compelled to leave Ousmane Dembele out of his squad for the key games.
Dembele has not trained recently and has just signed for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for an initial €105 million.
France play the Netherlands in Paris on Thursday before meeting Luxembourg in Toulouse on Sunday, September 3.
Les Bleus are currently second in World Cup qualifying group A, level on points with leaders Sweden and three ahead of the Dutch in third.
Only the group winners qualify automatically for the finals in Russia next year.
